It is a habitual rite when you have pizza; your drink goes with beer. This applies also when you have pale ale with salad. Other customs prefer steak and beer. Those are pictures of the way people consume with beer as the companion.
A new outlook is currently happening in some countries especially in Asian countries. If you have visited one the countries just a few months ago, you could see advertisement on television offering people to eat local dishes with the so-called soft drink as the companion. Regardless the kind of drink, this may inspire expatriates who reside in the region to try out beer matching with the local dishes most of which are spicy and hot.
Since the dishes are spicy and hot, not to mention sweet, the beer drinker should consider the beer based on the substances and its flavor. When the dishes are sweet and hot, you’d better be accompanied with the light beer and less sugar. On the other hand, if the dishes are rich enough, you’d better take the sweet flavor beer.
Nevertheless, you should consider the climate in Asia which is humid and moderately hot. A good selection of beer might be more effective to enjoy. Or, you might as well brew it for yourself and see if you can ‘market’ them later on while seeking potential market in the country.
